Fourth Sunday after Pentecost
Holy Fathers of the Fourth Ecumenical Council
Titus 3:8-15:  On this Sunday we read from St. Paul's letter to Titus, whom he warns to avoid delving into unprofitable and foolish questions about doctrine, and to reject heretics after two admonitions.
Matthew 5:14-19:  In this portion of the Sermon on the Mount Jesus teaches that we are to be Light in the darkness of this world, not hiding the glory of God from others, but rather, putting it where it can be seen.
Troparion of the Resurrection:  Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad; for the Lord hath done a mighty act with his own arm.  He hath trampled down death and become the First-born from the dead. He hath delivered us from the depths of hades, granting the world the Great Mercy.
Troparion of the Holy Fathers: Thou, O Christ, art our God of exceeding praise who didst establish our holy Fathers as luminous stars upon earth, and through them didst guide us unto the true Faith, O most merciful One, glory to thee.
Troparion of the Chains of St. Peter: O Holy Apostle, Peter, thou dost preside over the Apostles by the precious chains which thou didst bear.  We venerate them with faith and beseech thee that by thine intercessions we be granted the great mercy.
Kontakion for Usual Sundays:  O undisputed intercessor of Christians, O mediatrix, who is unrejected by the Creator, turn not away from the voice of our petitions though we be sinners; come to us in time, who cry to thee in faith, for thou art good.  Hasten to us with intercessions, O Theotokos, who didst ever intercede for those who honor thee.

Kitchen Maintenance: We have a number of perishable items being left in the kitchen (including condiments, etc., in the refrigerator).  These tend to spoil and often attract insects.  Following any church event (feast, coffee hour, fellowship, etc.), unless specific arrangements are made to use left overs very soon, please take them home with you!
The final note on our construction loan was $280,000 (which included $16,000 from our original mortgage)!!
Calendar Items:
 * Father John will be attending the Clergy Symposium at the Antiochian Village from July 18-25.  If you have pastoral needs during this time, please contact Father Leo or Father James.
 * Katherine Sarah Habeeb will be baptized on Saturday, August 16th at 2:00 p.m.  Please keep her and her family in your prayers!

Quotable: "There is nothing impossible unto those who believe; lively and unshaken faith can accomplish great miracles in the twinkling of an eye.  Besides, even without our sincere and firm faith, miracles are accomplished, such as the miracles of the sacraments; for God's Mystery is always accomplished, even though we were incredulous or unbelieving."
